Bio Notes: John Edward Robert Griffen Kean was born on 1 May 1903, the son of James Kean, retail manager, and his wife Priscilla Emily Turner. He was admitted ARIBA in 1935. His address in 1950 was in Kirk Brae, Liberton. He was elected ARIAS in 1956. He became Chief Architect in the Office of Works which post he held from 1953-1960.

He died at Stracathro Hospital, Brechin, on 4 March 1986, survived by Euphemia Margaret Swiss.
