He was elecetd a student member of the RIBA in 1937. He studied at the University of Cambridge and graduated BA. He was admitted ARIBA in 1948. In 1950 he was resident in Glasgow. He was taken into partnership in the practice John Laird & Son before 1970. The practice name changed before 1979. J Laird was the sole partner at this date indicating that Hendry had retired.
