Basic Biographical Details Name: | Donald Kenneth Baron | Designation: | | Born: | 5 July 1913 or 5 September 1913 | Died: | 25 January 1990 | Bio Notes: | Donald Kenneth Baron was born in Oldham in Greater Manchester on 5 September 1913, the son of Arthur Whittaker Baron, and his wife Mary Arrowsmith. He graduated with the degree of MA (probably in Manchester) and a Diploma in Town Planning at Manchester. He was admitted ARIBA in 1939. In the late 1940s (at least up to 1948) he was living and working in London (with a home address in Ealing). He had moved to East Kilbride two years later where he was presumably an employee of the Development Corporation. He was elected ARIAS in 1964.
He later was in private practice and had a post as officer in charge, Scottish Laboratory of Building Research Establishment. He resigned from the RIBA in January 1974 at the age of 60 but planned to take on occasional work.
Baron died on 25 January 1990 at his home in Gatehouse of Fleet.
