He studied at Glasgow School of Architecture and was admitted ARIBA in 1949. By 1970 he ws working for Cowie Torry & Partners (in what capacity is yet to be discovered). He remained there at least until 1979. He was living in Troon in the late 1980s.
Lowe died at the Sun Court Nursing Home in Troon on 12 October 2008.
