Basic Biographical Details Name: | Willie James Fenton | Designation: | | Born: | 20 June 1909 | Died: | 19 February 2004 | Bio Notes: | Willie-James Fenton was born on 20 June 1909, the son of James Fenton, mercantile clerk, and Mary Jane Connell Anderson. He served his articles in the office of Tawse & Allan in Aberdeen and remained as an assistant after the completion of his articles until 1935. During this period he attended evening classes at the School of Architecture, Robert Gordon's College. From 18 March 1935 he had a post with Davidson & Gordon, also in Aberdeen. This firm were agents and factors for property in Aberdeen and numerous estates in Aberdeenshire and the North of Scotland. He was elected LRIBA in 1948, proposed by John Gibb Marr, George Angus Mitchell and Alexander Buchanan Gardner. In 1950 he gave his address as Correi, Kirkbrae, Cults, Aberdeenshire.
He retired from practice (he may have practised on his own account later in his career) on 31 November 1981 and resigned from the RIBA a month later.
He died on 19 February 2004, aged 94, at Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen.
