Bio Notes: Arthur Lyall (or Lysall) Chisholm Lemon was born on 14 September 1916, the son of Arthur Lemon, draper, and his wife Eva Maria Norris. He attended the diploma course at the School of Architecture, Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen from September 1934. Whilst studying he also spent time in the office of A Marshall Mackenzie & Son, from June 1937 to April 1940. He received his diploma on 18 June 1940 and was admitted ARIBA on 7 January 1941, his proposers being A G R Mackenzia, John G Marr and R Leslie Rollo.

He was an assistant with George Bennet Mitchell in 1950 and in the RIBA Kalendar he gives their address. Three years later in 1953 he had moved to Messrs Tawse & Allan, 343 Union Street, Aberdeen. He does not appear in the RIBA Kalendar for 1963-64. By 1970 he had joined the Architects Department of Messrs Hall & Son. (He is not listed in the RIBA directory of 1970. He had retired before 1979.

He died on 23 July 2000 at Mowat Court Nursing Home, Stonehaven. His wife, Evelyn Anderson who had been a hairdresser, had predeceased him but he was survived by his married daughter.
