Bio Notes: Ian Manson Thomson, Thomas (Tom) Craig and Robin Donald established a practice in Aberdeen in 1963 as Thomson Craig & Donald with an office at 59 Dee Street. The practice moved to Carden Terrace a year later. By 1965 Angus McDonald Taylor had been assumed into partnership and the name changed to Thomson, Taylor Craig & Donald. There were branch offices in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dingwall, Ross-shire at this time. In 1979 David Miller was assumed into partnership, followed in 1980 by Alistair Hay and Charles Simpson and in 1984 by Donald Coutts and Frank Robertson.

The practice received a Civic Trust Award in 1971 and an RIBA Commendation in 1976.
