Bio Notes: Robert (or Robin) Weir Donald was born on 17 June 1934 in Aberdeen, the son of George Kennedy Donald, commercial traveller, and his wife Gladys Dixon (?illegible). He studied for the Diploma at Aberdeen School of Architecture. He was elected ARIBA in 1960. With Ian Manson Thomson and Thomas (Tom) Craig he established a practice in Aberdeen as Thomson Craig & Donald with an office at 59 Dee Street. The practice moved to Carden Terrace a year later. By 1970 Angus Taylor had been taken into partnership, the practice name changing to Thomson, Taylor Craig & Donald. In 1979 David Miller was assumed into partnership, followed in 1980 by Alistair Hay and Charles Simpson and in 1984 by Donald Coutts and Frank Robertson.
