Bio Notes: William Affleck Dalgleish was born on 3 December 1914 in Inverness. From August 1934 to September 1936 he was articled to William John Taylor of Carruthers, Ballantyne Cox & Taylor, Inverness and during this period he commenced the diploma course at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen. In June 1939 was awarded his diploma. The following month he became an assistant in the office of John Brown Nicol but was called up for military service in 1940 and served with the Royal Engineers. He was admitted ARIBA in 1942 at which time he was still with the Royal Engineers. His proposers were William John Taylor, John G Marr and John Alistair Ross.

In 1950-51 he gave his address as 18 Rubislaw Terrace, Aberdeen which may have been both his home and his office. He retired from a post in the City Architects Department, Aberdeen in 1979.

Dalgleish died on 21 May 1980 while on holiday in Sorrento in Italy. He was survived by his widow, Janet Elizabeth Dalgleish.
