Bio Notes: Robert Archibald Hendry was born in 1899. He formed a partnership in the early 1940s with James C Robertson, with an office in Orkney, presumably overseen by James C Robertson. Hendry practised in Aberdeen at 8 Union Terrace from 1946. He appears to have worked there on his own until he took Hugh Legge into partnership in 1965, the practice becoming Hendry & Legge. Three years later in 1968, Hendry retired. He died in 1970.

In 1972 the practice moved to 1 Huntly Street, Aberdeen. In 1975 Ian Belford was assumed into partnership and in 1982 Brian Cheyne and Legge's son, Roger, also joined.

In about 1984 the practice moved to 8 Albert Place, Aberdeen.
