Basic Biographical Details Name: | John George Davidson | Designation: | | Born: | 3 January 1911 | Died: | 12 November 1989 | Bio Notes: | John George Davidson was born on 3 January 1911, the son of Andrew Davidson, railway clerk, and his wife Helen Jane Little, later Davidson and then Mennie. He commenced his studies at the School of Architecture, Robert Gordon's College in September 1926. From June 1928 to September 1931 he was apprenticed to John Alexander Ogg Allan, and thereafter he returned to the School of Architecture to complete his studies, passing his diploma in June 1931 and his post-diploma and the Professional Practice exam there in June 1932. He was admitted ARIBA on 8 January 1934, his proposers being Allan, Robert Leslie Rollo and Arthur Hay Livingstone Mackinnon.
In 1958 Davidson left Allan Ross & Allan and was taken into partnership by Alexander Malcolm Stewart (who was possibly his brother-in-law. He remained with George Watt & Stewart until ill-health forced his retirement in 1972.
He died at The Grove Nursing Home, Kenmay, on 12 November 1989. He had been living at his home, 15 Seafield Crescent, Aberdeen, prior to his death. He had been at this address since the 1950s.
