Bio Notes: Henry John Brown may have been Scottish. He studied at Aberdeen School of Architecture from September 1919 until June 1924 from but moved to Yorkshire afterwards and 'had engagements as assistant to various architects'. At the time of his application for Associateship of the RIBA in February 1928 he was living in Leeds. He was admitted ARIBA late the same year, his proposers being Harry Sutton Chorley, Thomas Butler Wilson and George Walter Atkinson.

He died on 11 June 1986. At that time he had been living in Sheffield.
