Bio Notes: Gavin Strathearn Allan Lennox was born on 8 October 1914, the son of Glasgow architect Gavin Lennox and his wife Elizabeth Brough. He studied at Glasgow School of Architecture from September 1933. It is likely that he was apprenticed to his father but no evidence of this has been found. On 1 November 1937 he joined James Taylor Thomson & Partner as assistant, and he graduated BSc from Glasgow University in September 1938, remaining in the Thomson office until 31 December. In January 1939 he joined his father's office at 103 Bath Street, and he was admitted ARIBA on 6 March that year, his proposers being his father, his father's partner Daniel Walter MacMath, and William James Smith. He continued his father's practice for a short time after the latter's death on 30 July 1956, finally closing it in 1958. He later worked in Stirling County Architect's Department. He died some time before 11 December 1974
