Nothing is known about his professional training. In the mid-1890s he was in partnership with Herbert Passmore (1868-1966) in the London-based architectural firm G. B. Carvill and H. Passmore. Their offices were located at 35 New Bond Street, London. A chapel for the hospital of the Hospital of St. Peter Port designed by them is illustrated in Academy Architecture vol.7, 1895 (p.9).
By 1914 he was in partnership with Frank Norman Reckitt (1872-?).
