Basic Biographical Details Name: | Briggs & Wolstenholme | Designation: | | Born: | 1887 | Died: | 1906 | Bio Notes: | Frank Gatley Briggs was born in 1862 and educated at Lower Bank Academy, Blackburn. He was articled to James Bertwistle of Blackburn from 1876 to 1880 and subsequently worked as assistant to Thomas Chatfeild Clarke before commencing practice on his own account in 1887 in Blackburn and Liverpool, in partnership with Henry Vernon Wolstenholme. Wolstenholme was born in 1863 and served his articles with Miles Aspinall of Blackburn from 1876. He had been a fellow assistant with Briggs in Thomas Chatfeild Clarke's office between 1882 and 1885, and had subsequently worked for William Ithell Mason of Liverpool until commencing practice in partnership with Briggs.
