Bio Notes: James Milne-Davidson was born on 10 October 1876 and was articled to Burnet, Son & Campbell in Glasgow in 1894. In 1900 he joined H M Office of Works in Edinburgh, later transferring to London where he was promoted to 2nd Class Assistant Architect and Surveyor in 1905. In the latter year he transferred again, this time to China, where he remained until 1910. He then returned to the London office and was promoted to 1st Class Assistant Architect and Surveyor in 1911, and to Surveyor in 1920.

Milne-Davidson was admitted LRIBA in mid-1938, his proposers being John Hatton Markham, Archibald Scott and a superior from H M Office of Works.

Milne-Davidson died aged 74 in 1951, his death registered between January and March.
