Bio Notes: Charles Munro was born on 23 November 1903 and was articled to an unspecified architect in Leven in April 1919. He remained as assistant until December 1927 when he moved to another unspecified architect's office in Edinburgh. There he was admitted an Associate of the Edinburgh Architectural Association. In June 1929 he left for Belfast where he took up an appointment as chief assistant to the Government Architect of Northern Ireland. He passed the qualifying exam in Edinburgh in December 1933 and was admitted ARIBA on 5 March 1934, his proposers being Roland Ingleby Smith, Kendrick Edwards and another whose name has yet to be deciphered. At that time he was still in the Belfast Department of Works, and he remained there thereafter, latterly as Government Architect, from which post he retired in November 1968. He resigned his RIBA membership in December 1974.

Munro died on 3 June 1996 at Castlereach.
