Basic Biographical Details Name: | Harvey Wiley Corbett | Designation: | | Born: | 1873 | Died: | 1954 | Bio Notes: | Harvey Wiley Corbett was born in San Francisco in 1873. He studied in California and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and commenced independent practice in 1903 in New York, in partnership with F Livingston Pell. He directed an atelier at the Columbia School of Architecture from 1907 to 1909 and continued as a critic and occasional lecturer until 1935.
In 1912 he joined Frank J Helmle of Brooklyn in practice. Following Helmle's retirement in 1928 he entered into partnership with Wallace K Harrison and William MacMurray, the practice title becoming Corbett & MacMurray in 1935, and Harvey Wiley Corbett Associates in 1941.
