Bio Notes: Ronald Hamilton Thomson was born on 17 January 1910 and was articled to the Lanark County Architect in Motherwell for five years, beginning on 15 October 1925 and remaining as assistant until 30 April 1934. Thereafter he spent a year as assistant in the Lanark County Housing Department in Hamilton; fifteen months with the Department of Agriculture for Scotland in Edinburgh; seven months with the Department of War at Catherick Camp, Yorkshire; four months in the Montgomery County Architect's Department in Welshpool, Wales; and fifteen months in the Essex County Architect's Department in Chelmsford. He joined Rawmarsh Urban District Council, Yorkshire as assistant architect on 10 October 1938, and was still there when he gained automatic admittance as LRIBA on 22 September 1942, without the need for proposers.
