Basic Biographical Details Name: | George Laird | Designation: | | Born: | 2 February 1898 | Died: | 23 March 1973 | Bio Notes: | George Laird was born on 2 February 1898, the son of John Laird, architect and his wife Mary Jane (or Jessie) Lillie. He was presumably articled in his father's firm, J W & J Laird, and left with his father when the partnership was dissolved in 1925. His father took him into partnership with the practice title of John Laird & Son, c.1928.
Laird married Helen Robson Caldwell. They had at least one son, also called John. George Laird died of a broncho genic carcinoma in Mearnskirk Hospital, Newton Mearns on 23 March 1973 survived by his son John, then at 60 Montgomery Street, Eaglesham.
