Basic Biographical Details Name: | Robert Charles Hutchison (sometimes misspelt Robert Charles Hutchinson) | Designation: | | Born: | 25 November 1906 | Died: | 27 May 1990 | Bio Notes: | Robert Charles Hutchison (misspelt Hutchinson in some sources) was born on 25 November 1906 and served his articles in an unidentified office from 1923 to 1928, attending classes at Edinburgh School of Architecture and Heriot-Watt College. On completion of his apprenticeship he spent a year as draughtsman in the firm of Jamieson & Arnott, working mainly on hospitals and also carrying out some domestic work. He received his RIBA certificate in 1929 and continued thereafter with his studies at the School of Architecture, passing the qualifying exam in June 1931. He was admitted ARIBA the following year, his proposers being James Alexander Arnott, John Jerdan and John Begg. His employment status at that time is unclear, but he was living at Braefoot, Liberton.
By 1964 he was a JP and was living and working from 16 Braidhills Avenue.
