Bio Notes: John Wornham Penfold was born in Haslemere, Surrey in 1828 or 1829 and was articled to Charles Lee and Thomas Talbot Bury from 1845 to 1850, remaining as assistant for a further year. He spent about two years in the office of William Burn prior to commencing independent practice in London in 1854. He was surveyor to the Goldsmiths' Company from 1880, and died on 5 July 1909.
