Bio Notes: George William Brown was an articled pupil or assistant in the office of Salmon Son & Ritchie in the early 1870s. He received a commendation in the house planning competition in the Buildling News in May 1872. Like George Washington Browne, William Flockhart and James Marjoribanks MacLaren he enrolled at the Royal Academy Schools c.1876.
