Bio Notes: Thomas Verity was born in 1837. He was articled to Nelson & Innes in 1855, and was subsequently an assistant of Francis Fowke and Henry Young Darracott Scott . He became an expert on terracotta, and commenced practice on his own account in London in 1870. He was principally a theatre architect, and held the post of Surveyor of Theatres to the Lord Chamberlain. His son Francis Thomas Verity, who was born in 1864 and apprenticed to him from 1883, inherited both his post and his practice following his death on 6 May 1891.
