Bio Notes: John Wills senior, the founder of this practice started his career as an architect in Knightsbridge, London but went bankrupt and moved to Derby, finding a niche as a designer of chapels for Dissenters and managing to pay off his debts. He also practised in Skegness. He built 200 chapels mainly in the Midlands and South from 1874 until 1914. His sons, one of whom was also John, joined the firm as Wills & Sons.
