Bio Notes: John White was born c. 1870. He was articled to James Salmon & Son in Glasgow from 1885 to 1889, presumably studying at Glasgow School of Art and Technical College, and must have had exceptional ability as he became head draughtsman at the end of his articles, and remained so until he passed the qualifying exam in 1893 and commenced practice on his own account in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1894. He was admitted ARIBA on 4 December 1893, his proposers being William Forrest Salmon, Campbell Douglas and Thomas Lennox Watson.

He died in 1931.
