Bio Notes: Gordon Wallet Jackson was born on 11 June 1885. He was a day student at the Glasgow School of Art and served his apprenticeship with James Austen Laird. By 1910 he had moved to Bournemouth where he continued private study in his spare time and obtained a post as assistant in the architectural department of estate agency firm Fox Sons. After war service with the Gordon Highlanders from 1915 to 1918, by the end of which he had achieved the rank of Captain, he returned to Fox Sons where he was given full charge of the architectural department. He left to commence independent practice at 5 Yelverton Road, Bournemouth on 22 December 1922, in partnership with Wallace A Greenen, and was succeeded in his post at Fox Sons by H R Collins.

He was elected FRIBA in early 1930, his proposers being Thomas Stevens, Albert Edward Shervey and Charles Frederick William Dening.

He died in 1965.
