Basic Biographical Details Name: | Robert Stevenson Symington | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | 26 July 1889 | Bio Notes: | Robert Stevenson Symington was the brother-in-law of Thomas Graham Abercrombie (1862-1926), who set up practice in Paisley in May 1886. Symington joined Abercrombie as an assistant in 1887 and was taken into partnership by him the following year. In the same year the practice won a competition for Greenlaw Church, Paisley, modelled on Burnet's Barony Church. In July 1889 Symington was appointed as Clark's Thread Mills at Newark, New Jersey, USA but it appears that he died before he could take up this position. He died suddenly on 26 July 1889 at Kilmacolm and Abercrombie continued to work on his own account thereafter.
