Bio Notes: Stewart Phyn Crombie was born into a long architectural lineage (see Alexander Crombie) and was the son of Alan Burgess Crombie and the brother of Wilfrid Fitzalan Crombie and Alan Crombie. He was articled to Sir John James Burnet in Glasgow but he was killed in action at the Battle of Gazah with the 5th KOSB in the First World War.
