Bio Notes: Charles Daniel Rutter was born in 1872 and articled to Thomas William Willis, London, c.1888. He studied at University College and the Architectural Association. Thereafter he was an assistant architect in the War Office Architects Department, successively posted to Belfast, Perth and Aberdeen.

Rutter commenced independent practice in 1906 in Wrexham, Wales, where he presumably had some family connections. In 1914 his office was at Paris Bank Chambers and his house at Leaside.
