Bio Notes: Samuel Preston was born in 1854 or early 1855, the son of John Preston, cartwright and Mary Wright. He was salaried Master of Works for Govan School Board from c.1885 until his death, and as such on occasion worked in association with H & D Barclay. He married Anna Baillie and they had a son, Frank Anderson Baillie Preston. He died of Bright's Disease at 1356 Pollokshaws Road on 15 January 1916, aged sixty-one.
