Bio Notes: James Douglas Miller was born in Perth in 1901, the son of James Miller and was educated at Perth Academy. No particulars of his training are as yet known but he was in practice at at 5 Forres Street about 1933 and by 1938 had moved to 30 Walker Street, Edinburgh and was said to specialise in hospital work.

He married Flora Black, daughter of Neil Black in 1926 and had one son, Nigel Douglas Miller. His recreations were angling, golf and tennis.
