Bio Notes: David Stevenson was a lighthouse engineer of Edinburgh, and was the brother of Thomas Stevenson, with whom he was in partnership. They were sons of Robert Stevenson (1772-1850), with whom they previously worked in partnership as Robert Stevenson & Sons.

David Stevenson also designed lighthouses in Japan, in association with Richard Henry Brunton (1841-1901).
