He travelled in Europe, Asia, North Africa and the USA, and passed the qualifying exam in 1911, and was admitted ARIBA on 4 December 1911, his proposers being Dawber, Ernest George and Harry Redfern. He worked in partnership with Thomas Anderson Moodie and Thomas Millwood Wilson from 1911 to 1916, their office being at 4 Staple Inn.
