Basic Biographical Details Name: | William Ralph Low | Designation: | | Born: | 1863 | Died: | 1936 | Bio Notes: | William Ralph Low was born in 1863, the son of George Low, architect, of London. He was educated at the Merchant Taylors' School and was articled to his father for three years from 7 December 1881, attending classes at University College London. Thereafter he was assistant to Robert Willey and George Henry Birch before returning to his father's office in 1885. He passed the qualifying exam in 1886 and was admitted ARIBA on 21 June that year, his proposers being Wyatt Papworth, Henry Bayly Garling and Arthur Cates. He commenced independent practice in London two years later, in partnership with his father.
Low was admitted FRIBA in 1911, his proposers being W Woodward, Keith Downes Young and Henry Hall.
