Bio Notes: Robert A Wightman was born in Glasgow c. 1852. He married Jeanie _____ c. 1883 and at the time of the 1901 census they had five children: Thomas (an apprentice architect; presumably Thomas Blair Moncrieff Wightman), Mary, Harry, Jeanie and Robert.

Wightman designed a number of industrial buildings in Glasgow in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His practice closed c. 1910, perhaps as a result of the recession created by the Finance Act of 1909.
