Basic Biographical Details

Designation:
Born: 1867
Died: 1901
Bio Notes: David William Kennedy was born in 1867 and articled to William Lawrie of Matthews & Lawrie, Inverness from 1884. He presumably remained with John Hinton Gall when the latter inherited the practice on Lawrie's death in 1887. In 1889 he transferred to the office of William Laidlaw Carruthers for two years. He then moved to London working for Sir Arthur Blomfield, and then probably on Carruthers's recommendation, transferred to that of Ernest George & Peto, from which he passed the qualifying exam in 1892. After a study tour in Belgium he was admitted ARIBA on 4 December 1893, his proposers being George, Carruthers and John McKean Brydon. In 1901 he allowed his membership to lapse because of illness and he died the same year.
