Bio Notes: Edward Harding Payne was born in 1866 and worked in the office of Daniel Cubitt Nicholls from 1882 to 1885 before being articled to William Samuel Weatherley and Francis Ebenezer Jones and studying at the Architectural Association. He subsequently worked in the offices of Edwin Seward, Andrew Murray, Richard Adolphus Came and Frederick Mew. He commenced independent practice in 1890 and at some point worked in partnership with Charles Edward Hutchinson. He passed the qualifying exam in 1896 and was admitted ARIBA on 14 June the following year. He died in 1951.
