Basic Biographical Details

Name: Alexander Hinshelwood
Designation:
Born: c. 1840
Died:
Bio Notes: Alexander Hinshelwood was probably born in 1840 (though another person of the same name (born 1855) was a stone mason around the same time). The former Alexander Hinshelwood appears to have practised in Wishaw in the 1890s. In the 1881 and 1891 censused he is described as a clerk of works. He lived at Coltness Home Farm. At some point before 1901 John Forrest (or Forrester) Steel seems to have been in his practice, probably as assistant.
