Bio Notes: Alexander Fraser was a pupil of Walter McGowan of Dumfries, and subsequently worked with John Burnet in Glasgow as an assistant before commencing practice on his own account in Dumfries in the mid-1850s, where he secured the business of the National Bank in the Dumfries, Galloway and South Lanarkshire area. He was accomplished in both Italian Renaissance and Gothic. He died in 1870. His will was registered on 18 June 1870.
