Basic Biographical Details Name: | Thomas Ramsay | Designation: | | Born: | 1876 | Died: | 24 July 1944 | Bio Notes: | Thomas Ramsay was born c.1876, the son of James Ramsay, joiner, and his wife Elizabeth Miller, and studied at Glasgow School of Art in 1891-2. He worked as assistant to John Hutchison in Glasgow in the last decade of the 19th century. He went into partnership with Robert J Walker in or before 1904, winning the competition for Kirkintilloch Town Hall in that year and subsequently carrying out further competition work. The partnership, based at 123 Wellington Street, had been dissolved by 1913. The following year Ramsay was listed in directories as being in practice at 131 West Regent Street under the title of Ramsay & Co. He was living at Knightswood House, Anniesland between 1914 and 1924.
Ramsay died on 24 July 1944.
