Bio Notes: Robert Sibbald was articled to Robert Blackadder, and was subsequently an assistant with William Alexander and William Mackison, before commencing practice on his own account. His practice as a civil engineer, architect and valuator was almost wholly dependent on his housefactor brother John G Sibbald and his clients. The brothers shared a building at 25 Commercial Street, Dundee, with offices opposite each other at the head of a common stair.

Robert Sibbald died in February 1910. His son James took over the practice but died early, c.1920. After his father's death in 1910, he practised in his own name only.
