Bio Notes: William Fettis of Fettes (spelling varies) was born about 1835 in Montrose, the son of John W Fettes, painter journeyman and his wife Margaret. He was a pupil of James Matthews. He was in practice in Brechin from about 1859 and with an office at St David Street, Brechin from 1868 until 1911. He was married to Agnes and the couple had one son and one daughter.

Fettes served on the Brechin Town School Board in the 1890s. He died on 13 May 1911 aged 78.

No further details of him are yet known.
