Basic Biographical Details Name: | Archibald Craig | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | 10 June 1987 | Bio Notes: | Archibald Craig was was articled from December 1917 with an unspecified firm of architects and surveyors whilst taking classes in architectural subjects at Heriot College and embarked on the Diploma Course at Edinburgh College of Art from October the following year. He 'terminated' his apprenticeship in 1921. During his time at the College of Art he was awarded various scholarships and travelling bursaries. He sat the qualifying exam and was admitted ARIBA on 28 March 1927, his proposers being James Inch Morrison, Thomas Forbes Maclennan and John Begg. At this time he was working as an assistant to James Inch Morrsion. In 1930 or 1931 his address was 17 Northfield Avenue, Edinburgh. He had moved to 17 Northfield Terrace by 1939 to 1940, though may be a missprint and it is actually the same address. He was elected FRIAS in 1949. No further details are yet known.
