Bio Notes: James Ransome was born in 1865 and commenced practice in London in 1888. He was Consulting Architect to the Government of India from 1902, being succeeded in the post in 1908 by John Begg, whom he appears to have assisted on the building of the Council House Secretariat in the following year. He later worked in partnership with Lionel Francis Russell Coote. He died in 1944.
