Basic Biographical Details Name: | Cameron & Watt | Designation: | | Born: | c. 1902 | Died: | c. 1910 | Bio Notes: | John Cameron, of whom little is yet known, took George Watt into partnership in about 1900 or 1901. John Cameron was described as a builder and house surveyor in the Aberdeen Post Office Directories from 1897-1899 and thereafter as architect and licensed valuator. The firm Cameron & Watt were prolific house designers, probably building speculatively in the years from 1901 until at least 1906 and probably after.
The Cameron & Watt partnership lasted until 1910 in which year George Watt set up business on his own at 267 Union Street where he remained until 1916-17, and later at 214 Union Street. After the dissolution of the partnership Cameron also set up business on his own account and continued to work at the old practice address at 381 Union Street. Later he appears to have been joined by his son, the practice name becoming J & J Cameron.
