Bio Notes: John F Anderson was born about 1846, the son of David Anderson, machine maker and his wife Mary Anderson, spirit dealer. He was a very able draughtsman who seems to have provided freelance architectural service to the engineering drawing office of Robertson & Orchar and to Robert Keith, both in Dundee, as and when required between 1873 and 1878. He commenced independent practice at 61 Reform Street Dundee, in 1871-72. His main client seems to have been James Gentle. He also designed a church at Sinclairtown, Kirkcaldy in his own name. He subsequently worked from an office at 35 Albert Square.

Anderson's background has never been established and his subsequent career, if any, is unknown.
