Bio Notes: An apprentice with MacLaren Soutar Salmond, William Allan began business on his own in Dundee in 1919 and was joined by William Wallace Friskin in 1920. By 1931 he had been admitted a Fellow of the Dundee Institute of Architects, and was a member of its Council, although he had not sought membership of the RIBA. He died in December 1945, Friskin continuing to practise under his name alone thereafter.
