Bio Notes: Sidney Patrick Murray was born on 17 March 1914 and studied at Aberdeen School of Architecture from June 1931, interspersing three years' full-time study with three-and-a-half years' part-time study whilst apprenticed in an unspecified architect's and surveyor's office. He sought wider experience in summer 1936, spending two months in an architect's office in Edinburgh, and obtained his diploma in June the following year. Two months later he was appointed junior assistant to John Alexander Ogg Allan. He was still in Allan's office when he was admitted ARIBA on 9 May 1938, his proposers being Allan, Robert Leslie Rollo and James Brown Nicol.

Murray practised in Belfast from the early 1950s. He resigned his RIBA membership in 1979.

Murray died in Belfast on 21 December 1989.
