Basic Biographical Details Name: | John Guthrie Tulloch | Designation: | | Born: | 21 February 1912 | Died: | 2 July 1978 | Bio Notes: | John Guthrie Tulloch was born on 21 February 1912 and attended the diploma course at Edinburgh College of Art under John Begg from 1928. From August 1932 to October 1934 he worked in the office of Thomas McCrae. He spent his summer holidays sketching and measuring, and was awarded a travelling scholarship at Easter 1935. He obtained his diploma and an exemption from the RIBA final exam in June 1936, enabling him to be admitted ARIBA on 9 February 1937, his proposers being John Begg, James Macgregor and Frank Charles Mears. By that time he had moved to London where he was working for Messrs Lyons & Co Ltd, piano manufacturers, his role there being unclear.
Tulloch died on 2 July 1978.
